A non-profit society based in North Vancouver, BC

The Lynn Valley Literary Society (LVLS), incorporated in 2007, is a non-profit organization devoted to the furtherance of creative writing and reading. It is headquartered at Mollie Nye House, a community-use facility in North Vancouver, British Columbia, and works in partnership with other local arts groups to bring a greater number of opportunities for local citizens to become involved in the literary arts.

The LVLS hosts readings, workshops, and social events for the local book-loving community. We publish writing and reading news via The Letter Press, a quarterly publication that aims to keep people of all skill levels actively engaged in the pursuit of better writing. Periodically we embark on community-supported publishing projects such as Wintertide, a soon-to-be released anthology that celebrates the festive season on Vancouver's North Shore.

A major program run by the society is the Young Writers' Club, a monthly workshop series that links students in Grades 5 and older and offers creative fun, skill development and publication opportunities in a social, interactive environment.

Your $25 annual LVLS membership includes:

  • subscription to The Letter Press
  • 10% discount to purchases made at Black Bond Books in Lynn Valley Mall
  • member discounts at select LVLS events and workshops
